Put An End
Karen Wilkening, MA, CPO
Your Declutter Therapist
I hold a safe space for clients to explore their relationship to the “stuff” of their lives. I am empathic by nature and can help people identify issues that may be submerged beneath their clutter. By developing self-acceptance and a sense of accomplishment, shame, procrastination and negative self-talk can recede and lose the power to create physical chaos and stagnation. Confidence, knowledge and functional organizing systems allow for a new start in life, no matter the age. I love making a difference in my client’s lives!
Since 1999, I have built a successful career in organizing by being compassionate, efficient, articulate and trustworthy. I am a combination of an educator, a coach, a cheerleader and a therapist. Confidentiality and healthy boundaries are essential in this work, as I am exposed to a person’s life in great detail. I am a Certified Professional Organizer (CPO), having passed comprehensive exams given by the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO).
Attention Deficit Disorder is a challenging combination of distractibility, hyperactivity and impulsivity. In addition to being an organizer, I'm also an artist. I have an intimate understanding of the alternative pathways that right-brained, creative people often need to be successful at getting organized. Counteracting the shame of being different in a left-brain world is also key in finding effective solutions. Patience, compassion and creativity help me find fun, colorful, yet efficient answers to this conundrum.
